Question: Has a human ever been cloned?
Answer: Not completely. Some Korean scientists cloned an embryo, but they only let it grow to be a couple cells large.


Question: Have I ever eaten a GM (genetically modified) crop before?
Answer: Chances are, you probably have. In fact, at least 80% of the world’s soy is GM.


Question: What was the first cloned animal?
Answer: Dolly, a lamb, was the first cloned animal. She was born in late July, 1996.


Question: Is it possible for a bird to be cloned?
Answer: No one has discovered how to clone an animal that is hatched, but it might be possible someday.


Question: Is cloning something that I’ll be able to do at home?
Answer: Only if you have a couple thousand dollars, because the U.S. government won’t fund research for cloning/ genetic engineering.


Question: Is it possible to clone a dinosaur?
Answer: It could be possible someday. If a white blood cell of a dinosaur is alive in an old dinosaur bone or in a mosquito trapped in amber, scientists might be able to use that DNA for cloning.
